The Independence Day of the United States of America is celebrated on 4 July in all embassies and consulates of the world as well as in the USA.
On 2 July, the Independence Day reception held at the US Consulate General in Thessaloniki was also attended by people from Western Thrace. The guests attending the US Independence Day reception in Thessaloniki were welcomed by the US Consul General in Thessaloniki Jerrier (Jerry) Ismail. FEP Party President Çiğdem Asafoğlu conveyed congratulations on behalf of the party to US Ambassador George Tsounis and Consul General Jerrier (Jerry) Ismail on the occasion of "Independence Day" and thanked them for the invitation.
