Western Thrace Turks’ humanitarian aid reaches Gaza
Humanitarian aid collected through donations from the Turkish community of Western Thrace has reached Gaza through cooperation between Çınar Association and the UK-based İHH-UK Foundation.
As part of the aid campaign, food packages were distributed to people in need in Gaza, with field operations coordinated by İHH-UK Foundation.
The "Gaza Food Aid" campaign was carried out alongside Çınar Association’s 2026 Uganda Qurban Campaign and received support from across Western Thrace, particularly from İskeçe, Gümülcine and Dedeağaç, as well as from donors in various European countries and other parts of the world.
Through İHH-UK’s coordination efforts in Gaza, food packages were delivered to thousands of people facing hunger and humanitarian difficulties in the region.
İHH-UK President Ali Tahir Canbaz thanked donors and the Turkish community of Western Thrace in a social media statement, saying that donations made during Eid al-Adha had been delivered to families in Gaza.
Officials from Çınar Association stated that the aid had been safely delivered to those in need thanks to İHH-UK’s field organization, adding that the Turkish community of Western Thrace continues to stand in solidarity with Palestinians.
The association emphasized the importance of humanitarian assistance amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and highlighted the vital role of such aid for affected communities.
