Western Thrace Turkish Women’s Platform attends World First Aid Day Training in Edirne
The Western Thrace Turkish Women’s Platform participated in a training seminar organized by the Edirne Provincial First Aid Training Center (İYEMER) as part of World First Aid Day. A total of 35 women received instruction in basic life support and emergency first aid practices.
The seminar, held at Edirne’s historic Deveci Han Cultural Center, focused on practical methods including basic life support, airway obstruction response, bleeding control, tourniquet application, and first aid in cases such as animal bites, stings, heart attacks, and epileptic seizures.
Aimed at raising first aid awareness among Western Thrace women, the program was delivered by İYEMER experts with the support of the Edirne Governorship. Participants gained the ability to respond correctly to emergencies both within their families and in society at large.
Following the event, the Western Thrace Turkish Women’s Platform issued a statement:
“At every step we take for social awareness, solidarity, and unity, we move forward together. We thank everyone who supported and stood by us.”
Through this training, Western Thrace Turkish women not only enhanced their knowledge of first aid but also reinforced the spirit of community solidarity.
