Western Thrace representatives attend graduation ceremony at Edirne Religious Training Center
The graduation ceremony of the Third Term Vocational Training Program for Candidate Religious Officials at the Edirne Religious Training Center was held on Thursday, Dec. 11, 2025, at the Edirne Public Education Center Hall, with participation from Western Thrace.
The well-attended ceremony marked the successful completion of professional training by candidates preparing to serve in religious institutions.
Among the distinguished guests were Edirne Governor Yunus Sezer and Deputy President of Türkiye’s Directorate of Religious Affairs (Diyanet), Hatice Boynukalın Şenkardeşler, who delivered speeches highlighting the importance of well-trained religious officials. They emphasized the crucial role such officials play in fostering healthy communication with society and fulfilling their guidance and leadership responsibilities.
Western Thrace was represented at the ceremony by Fehim Ahmet, Deputy Mufti of Gümülcine, who attended on behalf of Mufti İbrahim Şerif. His presence underscored the strong religious, cultural and institutional ties between the Western Thrace Turkish community and Türkiye.
The participation from Western Thrace was widely seen as a tangible demonstration of ongoing cooperation and solidarity in the religious sphere between the two sides.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates to the graduating candidates and the taking of commemorative photographs.
