Two “quota” teachers left Western Thrace
A Farewell Day event was held at the Western Thrace Turkish Teachers' Union for two quota teachers who completed their term in Western Thrace.
The Western Thrace Turkish Teachers' Union (BTTÖB) Board of Directors organized a Farewell Day event on Friday, June 2, for the quota teachers of the Celal Bayar Minority Secondary and High School in Komotini, Erol Sazak and Erdinç Çıtak.
Teachers showed great interest in the event held at the BTTOB local.
The host of the event, Aydın Ahmet, President of the Western Thrace Turkish Teachers' Union, Türkiye's Consul General to Komotini Aykut Unal and his wife İlayda Ünal, Vice-Consul Subutay Koç, Rhodope Deputy Özgür Ferhat, Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Borad President and Mufti of Komotini İbrahim Şerif, Celal Bayar Minority Secondary School and High School Principal Tunalp Mehmet, FEP Party Deputy Chairman Metin Hacıosman, Mustafa Yüzbaşı representing WTMGA, State Assembly member and Kozlukebir Mayor candidate Tarkan Multaza and representatives of other institutions and organizations attended.
BTTÖB President Aydın Ahmet, quota teachers and Türkiye's Consul General to Komotini Aykut Ünal made speeches.
Later, the Consul General of Komotini, Aykut Ünal, presented plaques to teacher Erol Sazak and teacher Erdinç Çıtak.
Following the event, the Turkish Classical Music Friends Association Choir gave a concert of Rumelian folk songs.
The event ended with food and beverage offerings to the participants.
