Two members of a criminal group arrested in Xanthi

After thorough investigations and appropriate use of evidence, two Greek citizens - members of a criminal group that was active in committing robberies in areas of Xanthi - were arrested in Xanthi.

As emerged from the methodical investigation, the two members, together with three hitherto unknown accomplices, formed and joined a structured and continuously active group, at least since 25-12-2024, in order to carry out robberies in houses in settlements of Xanthi, with a different composition each time, where, having covered their facial features and wearing gloves, they immobilized the victims using physical violence and, with the threat of a pistol and iron crowbars, they removed money and valuables.

According to ERT specifically, two robberies were investigated that the perpetrators committed on 25-12-2024 and 16-1-2025 in settlements of Xanthi, where, following the above methodology, they entered two houses and removed from their interiors, as appropriate, amounts of money, gold - jewelry, gold coins and mobile phones.
