Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan announced that the Türkiye-Greece High-Level Cooperation Council (HLCC) will convene in Ankara in April.

Speaking on the matter, Minister Fidan stated, "President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will meet in April. The High-Level Cooperation Council will convene in Türkiye, and we will hold this meeting."

Fidan also noted that he met with Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis in Doha last week, where they discussed preparations for the upcoming meeting and reviewed the steps to be taken.

Highlighting the commitment of both countries to resolving issues through dialogue, Fidan said, "Both Türkiye and Greece agree on the need for genuine effort and a sincere will to resolve problems through negotiations. Our foreign ministries have been tasked with this responsibility, and we continue our efforts accordingly."

He further stated that both presidents are regularly briefed and provide guidance on the matter. However, he also acknowledged the complexities of Greece’s internal political dynamics, remarking, "As I mentioned, the internal political system in Greece is much more sensitive compared to ours."
