Turkish delegation meets with Western Thrace Turkish Minority representatives
Türkiye’s Deputy Foreign Minister Levent Gümrükçü, İYİ Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu, Justice and Development Party (AK Party) Istanbul MP Seda Gören Bölük, and other officials visited the Gümülcine Turkish Youth Union ahead of the 31st anniversary commemoration of Dr. Sadık Ahmet’s death.
The delegation held talks with Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board President and İskeçe Elected Mufti Mustafa Trampa, as well as members of the Advisory Board. Türkiye’s Consul General in Gümülcine, Aykut Ünal, also attended the meeting.
During the discussions, representatives addressed the current challenges, concerns, and expectations of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority.
According to a statement by the İYİ Party, Müsavat Dervişoğlu also held separate meetings with Mustafa Trampa, Gümülcine Turkish Youth Union President Sedat Hasan, and Işık Sadık Ahmet, the wife of the late Western Thrace Turkish leader Dr. Sadık Ahmet.
The Turkish delegation also met with members of Dr. Sadık Ahmet’s family at the residence of Türkiye’s Consulate General in Gümülcine.
The Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board thanked the visiting officials and political representatives for attending the commemoration events and for their continued support for the community.
