Turkish Consulate General in Gümülcine hosts world breakfast day gathering
The Consulate General of Türkiye in Gümülcine hosted a special gathering on Sunday, June 7, to mark World Breakfast Day, bringing together representatives of institutions serving the Turkish minority community in Western Thrace.
The breakfast event was held in the garden of the Consulate General and provided an opportunity for participants to meet in an informal setting, exchange views, and strengthen cooperation among community organizations.
According to a statement shared on the Consulate General’s official social media accounts, the event welcomed volunteers from the Association of Western Thrace Minority University Graduates (WTMUGA) and employees of the Western Thrace Minority Culture and Education Company (BAKEŞ), both of which play significant roles in supporting the Turkish minority community in the region.
In its statement, the Consulate General noted that the guests included individuals who contribute to the social, educational, and cultural development of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority.
The gathering also served as a platform for enhancing solidarity and dialogue among institutions active within the minority community.
Turkish Consul General Aykut Ünal and his wife, İlayda Ünal, personally welcomed attendees and engaged with guests throughout the event, which was characterized by a warm and friendly atmosphere.
The World Breakfast Day gathering highlighted the importance of community engagement and cooperation among organizations working to support the cultural and educational life of Western Thrace’s Turkish minority.
