Turkish consul general visits İskeçe Mufti’s Office for talks on minority issues
The visit took place on Wednesday, July 22, where Consul General Ünal met with Mustafa Trampa, President of the Consultative Council of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace and Mufti of İskeçe.
During the meeting, officials discussed the activities of the İskeçe Mufti’s Office and exchanged views on current issues affecting the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace.
Following the visit, Mufti Mustafa Trampa stated that they briefed Consul General Ünal on the work carried out by the mufti’s office and held a comprehensive discussion on the challenges and concerns of the minority community.
“We exchanged views on the issues facing our Turkish Minority of Western Thrace,” Trampa said, expressing his appreciation for the visit.
The Consulate General of Türkiye in Gümülcine also shared a statement regarding the meeting, describing the discussions at the İskeçe Mufti’s Office as productive and conducted in a warm atmosphere.
The consulate said the meeting provided an opportunity to discuss matters related to the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace and thanked Mufti Trampa, members of the mufti’s office staff and their families for their hospitality.
The courtesy visit concluded with both sides emphasizing the constructive and friendly nature of the discussions.
