Trakya University promotes international opportunities in Western Thrace

Trakya University-Edirne has carried out international promotion activities in the Western Thrace cities of İskeçe and Gümülcine as part of its efforts to expand its global outreach and attract more international students.

The events were organized by the university’s Foreign Relations Application and Research Center, with the participation of Center Director Assoc. Prof. Rifat Gürgendereli, Deputy Director Dr. Burcu Ören Özer and computer operator Çağla Bozkurt.

Promotion meetings held in Gümülcine and İskeçe

The University delegation carried out courtesy visits to the Consulate General of Türkiye in Gümülcine, the Mufti’s Offices of Gümülcine and İskeçe, and the Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association during its international promotion activities.

Information sessions for students were held at the Gümülcine Turkish Youth Union and the İskeçe Turkish Union, where participants were briefed on the university’s academic programs, admission procedures and opportunities for international students.

The program aimed to introduce students in the Balkan region to Trakya University and provide detailed information about educational opportunities available at the institution.

Students informed about academic programs and application process

During the visits, prospective students received information about associate, undergraduate and graduate programs, international student admission procedures, application requirements, scholarship opportunities, accommodation options and social and cultural life in Edirne.

University representatives also held one-on-one meetings with students, answering questions about application procedures and enrollment processes.

University highlights Balkan cooperation and international vision

The meetings showcased Trakya University’s academic infrastructure, internationalization strategy and student-focused education approach.

Participants also exchanged views on strengthening educational cooperation with Balkan countries and developing new academic partnerships in the region.

Goal to increase global presence

Trakya University said it will continue promotional activities in different regions, particularly across the Balkans, as part of its internationalization strategy.

The university aims to increase its international visibility, strengthen academic and cultural cooperation, and attract qualified international students to its programs.
