Traffic restrictions on Egnatia Odos near İskeçe extended through 2026
The İskeçe Police Directorate has decided to extend the existing traffic measures until December 31, 2026, continuing the restrictions introduced under the previous decision concerning maintenance works on the Egnatia Odos within its jurisdiction.
The extension follows a request from Nea Egnatia Odos and a report submitted by the İskeçe Traffic Police Department. Authorities said the measures are intended to ensure the safe and smooth movement of traffic while maintenance works are underway.
What the extended measures mean
The existing traffic restrictions will remain fully in force during the extended period.
If further extensions to the maintenance works become necessary, the relevant information must be submitted to the İskeçe Police Directorate in a timely manner.
The İskeçe Traffic Police Department will be responsible for implementing and enforcing the measures. Depending on traffic conditions, officers may adjust the start and end times of restrictions or impose temporary traffic bans on individual roads for as long as necessary.
Drivers urged to follow traffic instructions
Drivers traveling through the affected section of the Egnatia Odos are urged to follow instructions from the Traffic Police and comply with all relevant road signs.
The current arrangements will remain in place until December 31, 2026, unless further changes are announced by the authorities.
