Traditional "tea night" continues in SEÇEK as community event returns on July 4
The Seçek Minority Education and Culture Association will host its traditional “Tea Night” event on Saturday, July 4, continuing a long-standing cultural gathering in the Western Thrace Turkish community.
The event will take place at the football field in the village of Mehrikoz, located in Kozlukebir Municipality in the Rodopi region, and is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. local time.
As part of the programme, the annual pastry competition will once again be held in two categories: savoury and sweet. Organizers stated that the sweet category will also include cakes and similar desserts, in addition to traditional pastries.
Winners of each category will be awarded a quarter gold coin, while additional surprise prizes will be given to other ranked participants. All competitors will also receive various gifts as part of the event.
The association also announced that membership cards for 2026 will be distributed during the event to members who have paid their annual dues, while a payment desk will be available on-site for those wishing to complete their membership payments.
