Traditional Şahin Charity Fair brings Western Thrace community together
Organized jointly by the Şahin Foundation Committee, the Şahin Education and Culture Association, and the Şahin Football Club, the annual fair has once again become a major gathering point for the Western Thrace Turkish community.
The event, which attracted large crowds, continued to welcome visitors through Sunday evening, August 2. People from surrounding villages also showed strong interest in the fair, highlighting the importance of community cooperation and social bonds.
The opening ceremony was attended by President of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board and Mufti of İskeçe Mustafa Trampa, Member of Parliament Hüseyin Zeybek, Mustafçova Mayor Ahmet Kurt, Deputy Chairman of the Friendship, Equality and Peace (DEB) Party Bahri Belço, regional council members Salih Yörük and İbrahim Amuçka, representatives of the Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association (BTTDD), local community leaders and numerous guests.
Speaking at the opening, Mufti Mustafa Trampa congratulated everyone involved in organizing the fair and thanked the volunteers who contributed to the event.
This year’s fair also introduced several new arrangements to the event area, which received positive feedback from both visitors and volunteers. The improved layout provided a more organized and comfortable environment for participants.
The event concluded with success.
For years, the Şahin Charity Fair has served not only as a fundraising event but also as an important platform that brings together members of the Western Thrace Turkish community from different regions, strengthening social solidarity and collective ties.
