On Sunday, August 4, a Hatim ceremony was held in the village of Demircik, attracting thousands of kinsmen.

The ceremony celebrated 36 students who completed the recitation of the Qur'an. Students from the Demircik Qur'an Course participated, as well as children of Demircik natives living in Frankfurt, Germany, and other regions of Xanthi. The event had an international flavor, with students showcasing impressive Qur'anic recitations and presentations, particularly touching on Palestine and Gaza.

Attendees included people from neighboring villages, Xanthi city center, various parts of Western Thrace, and numerous guests from Turkey. Notable attendees were Mustafa Trampa, Mufti of Xanthi; Ozan Ahmetoğlu, President of the Xanthi Turkish Union; Ahmet Kurt, Mayor of Mustafçova; Members of Parliament Burhan Baran and Hüseyin Zeybek; and Subutay Koç, Deputy Consul representing the Turkish Consulate General in Komotini.

Mustafa Trampa led the Hatim prayer and praised the presence of children from the diaspora, emphasizing unity and community strength. The successful Qur'an recitations by students were highly appreciated. Tahir Ömer, speaking on behalf of the parents, expressed gratitude to all participants.

After the ceremony, guests were treated to traditional dishes, including meat pilaf and ayran. Visitors toured the Demircik Education and Culture Association, engaging in coffee and conversation with the village youth.

The event underscored the strong cultural and religious ties within the Demircik community, both locally and internationally, highlighting a significant aspect of cultural preservation and unity.
