The film "Sadık Ahmet" to be released on 29 December
TRT General Director Mehmet Zahid Sobacı, who attended the press conference held at a hotel in Istanbul, mentioned the activities of TRT and stated that they are currently trying to reach 7 continents of the world in 41 languages with 19 television, 17 radio channels, 7 digital news platforms.
"Sadık Ahmet is a valuable work for us"
TRT General Director Sobacı said the following regarding the film "Sadık Ahmet":
"This film is one of our mission-laden works. Transferring Sadık Ahmet's life to the silver screen is a milestone for us, for TRT, that we will never allow our identity to be overshadowed and our independence to be restricted. This is what Sadık Ahmet means to us. Of course, Sadık Ahmet, as a doctor, did not only heal physical wounds in Western Thrace, but also engaged in a struggle to heal the pain of being assimilated, ignored or deprived of freedom. Therefore, it is a valuable project for us."
"Sadık Ahmet was a unifying leader"
Producer Mahmut Cüneyt Göz stated that they started filming after a 6-month preparation period and the set lasted 8.5 weeks in Edirne.
Göz thanked all the actors and crew who contributed and said, "They all worked very devotedly. From the very beginning, from the day we decided on this project, they worked very devotedly."
Hakan Yonat, the director of the film, underlined that they tried to understand and explain Dr. Sadık Ahmet, who is a very valuable figure, correctly.
Turgay Aydın, who plays the character of "Sadık Ahmet", and actress Nur Fettahoğlu expressed their satisfaction for taking part in this project.
Levent Sadık Ahmet, son of Sadık Ahmet, pointed out that his father died at his own hands and said, "Sadık Ahmet was a unifying leader. We are a family that has gone through very difficult times. My father passed away in my hands. I had the chance to take my sister Funda out of that car under bad conditions. Before my father passed away, he said, "I will leave you an immaculate name. If you do not bring a stain on it, every door will open for you, especially the motherland Türkiye. I would like to thank the Republic of Türkiye on behalf of my late father, his colleagues and the Turkish world."
Sadık Ahmet's daughter Funda Sadık Ahmet underlined the support of Türkiye and said, "We came from difficult conditions. We tried to carry this surname with honour. I would like to thank the Republic of Türkiye, TRT, producers, directors and actors who never withheld their support from us. After 28 years, I am grateful to you for embracing me with my father."
The project design and creative production of the film, which was produced by MCG Film Media, belongs to Muhammet Usta and the script belongs to Mert Dikmen.
The film, which also stars Erkan Can, Ozan Akbaba, Renan Bilek, İlker Aksum, Taner Rumeli, Burak Satıbol, Uğur Yücel, Erdal Beşikçioğlu, Suzan Kardeş and Doğukan Güngör, will be released on 29 December.
