The dates of 2024 Alantepe Oil Wrestling and Cultural Events have been announced
The dates and the agha of the historical Alantepe Oil Wrestling and Cultural Events organised by Kozlukebir Municipality, one of the most deep-rooted cultural traditions of Western Thrace Turks, were announced to the public at a press conference.
Erdem Hüseyin, the Mayor of Kozlukebir Municipality, announced that the 2024 Alantepe Oil Wrestling and Cultural Events will be held on 30-31 August and 1 September at a press conference held on Wednesday 17 July 2024 at the council hall of the municipality in the square of Sirkeli village.
Mayor Hüseyin announced that one of the members of the municipality council, Basırlıköy Azası Sinan Hasan, will be the agha for the events to be held this year. Giving information about the activities carried out at home and abroad as the administration for the successful realisation of the events, Mayor Hüseyin thanked the institutions and organisations and managers who contributed.
Mayor Hüseyin said that the events will start from the village of the agha, Basırlıköy, on Friday, 30 August this year, as in the past years, and that the artists who will take the stage will be clarified in the coming days. Taking the floor after the mayor, 2024 Alantepe Agha Sinan Hasan greeted the participants of the press conference and then talked about himself. Expressing his happiness to undertake the agha duty, Sinan Hasan invited the cognates to participate in the historical events.The press conference, which was also attended by deputy mayors, some council members and muhtars, ended after the speeches.
