The Vocational Promotion and Guidance Branch, operating under the Western Thrace Minority Graduates Association, held the 5th session of Personal Development Workshops on Friday, March 10, 2023.
Two sessions for high school students, titled "How I Develop: Freud and Erickson" and "I Discover Myself", were discussed at the event.
In the first part of the session, Enes, a senior high school student, made a presentation on the life and theories of Freud and Erickson, who are important names in the history of psychology.
The student, who first introduced Freud's theory of biological origin, then transferred Erickson's theory of psychosocial development to the participants.
He also explained the developmental stages of both theories in detail and talked about the consequences that may arise if these stages are completed positively or negatively.
In the second part, high school students Şule and Ceren continued with their presentations titled “I'm Discovering Myself”.
They touched on the subject of self-discovery, which is another stage that emerges after people have completed their physiological needs.
While the inner conflicts continue, they talked about the search for meaning in the journey of life, the awareness of observing, the consciousness of us and the awareness of responsibility in this search.
Speakers explained that it is an achievement to maintain our lives as individuals with inner witness.
In the presentation, the importance of making progress towards becoming individuals with high self-esteem by adopting a culture of values was emphasized.
The students completed their presentations with an activity on perception differences.
