Rhodope peace committee to hold anti-war event
The Rhodope Peace Committee has announced an upcoming event to address the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East, calling for a united stand against war.
According to the committee, the event will be held on Thursday, November 14, at the Multipurpose Cultural Center in Komotini. The program is set to begin at 6:30 p.m., with an open invitation to all who oppose the ongoing conflicts.
The event will focus on the impacts of the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East, as well as Greece's role as a strategic base in these conflicts. Key topics include the demand for the closure of NATO bases in Greece, the withdrawal of the Greek frigate from the Red Sea, and ending the Greek army’s participation in foreign imperialist missions. Additionally, the event aims to highlight solidarity with the Palestinian people and support for refugees and migrants displaced by war.
The committee especially encourages youth and all who are concerned about the wars to attend.
