Region of Eastern Macedonia & Thrace strengthens its tourism presence in Poland
The Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace (EMT) has secured an increase in weekly flights from Poland and the Czech Republic, following its participation in the International Travel & Tourism Fair (ITTF) in Warsaw.
A regional tourism delegation, led by Deputy Regional Governor for Tourism Panagiotis Archontis, returned yesterday from the Polish capital, where the ITTF — one of Poland’s most significant tourism industry events — took place.
Expanding Access to Key Markets
The region’s participation marks an important step in promoting Eastern Macedonia & Thrace to the Polish market, which already ranks among the region’s strongest sources of visitors each year.
The delegation held intensive meetings with Polish travel agents and tourism professionals. Particular emphasis was placed on discussions with major tour operators such as ITAKA and Rainbow, reaffirming the strong cooperation between the parties.
As a direct outcome of these meetings, weekly flight frequency from Poland and the Czech Republic to the region is set to increase.
Institutional Presence
Several Greek diplomatic representatives visited the regional pavilion at the fair, highlighting the importance of the region’s tourism strategy:
