Refika Habipoğlu laid to rest in Western Thrace
Refika Habipoğlu, the mother of Federation of Western Thrace Turks in Europe (ABTTF) President Halit Habipoğlu, was laid to rest following a funeral ceremony held in the village of Muratlı in Western Thrace.
Habipoğlu passed away at the age of 83 on July 25 in Witten, Germany. Her body was later brought to Western Thrace for burial.
Following the afternoon funeral prayer in Muratlı, located in the Rodopi regional unit, mourners gathered to pay their final respects before she was buried at the village cemetery.
The funeral was attended by Ali Tosun, Deputy Consul at the Consulate General of Türkiye in Gümülcine, Deputy Mufti of Gümülcine Fehim Ahmet, Gümülcine Turkish Youth Union President Sedat Hasan, Western Thrace Turkish Teachers' Association President Aydın Ahmet, Western Thrace Mosques Religious Officials Association President Erol Yolcu, members of the Habipoğlu family, and numerous local residents.
