“QUIZ SHOW” by the Youth Branch of Xanthi Turkish Association
The Turkish Union of Xanthi (İTB), which is not officially recognized by the Greek State because of the "Turkish" word in its name, is organizing a "QUIZ SHOW" aimed at students of the Youth Club.
The competition will be held in three separate groups for primary, secondary and high school students.
It was stated that the competition organized by the İTB Youth Branch will be held on a separate day for each group. The dates for the students to compete are as follows:
- Primary school students on Friday, October 5th.
- Secondary school students on Friday, October 12th.
- High school students on Friday, October 19th.
It is stated that students who will earn a degree in the competition will be given bicycle, tablet computer stationery, and other various gifts.
In this way, The Youth Branch of Xanthi Turkish Union is preparing to carry out one of its successful organization.
Turkish Union of Xanthi is one of the historical associations of The Turks in Western Thrace. The Turkish Union of Xanthi which was founded in 1927 was closed by a court decision on the grounds that it was against the law in 1986 due to the word "Turk" in its name. The legal struggle that started from this year is continuing. Although the European Court of Human Rights in 2008 found the Turkish Union to be justified, Greece continues to violate the ECtHR ruling and does not recognize the Turkish Union of Xanthi.
