It was reported that all citizens are invited to the protest demonstration planned for Thursday 15 February at 18:00 in Xanthi town square.

Xanthi Private Sector Employees and Trades Union issued a press release and invited all citizens to the protest to be held on Thursday 15 February at 18:00 in the town square of Xanthi against the cost of living and for salary increases.

In the statement of the union, it was stated that the current salaries are insufficient to meet the basic needs of citizens, food, electricity and other needs.

The statement drew attention to the increases in the prices of basic necessities: 58.5 per cent for olive oil, 15 per cent for fruits and vegetables, 13.7 per cent for gas used for heating, 11.8 per cent for medicines, 10.2 per cent for airline tickets and other means of transport, and up to 30 per cent for rent and loan interest.
