Passenger traffic at Dedeağaç Airport sees new increase
For the January–October 2025 period
Passenger traffic at the 24 airports managed by the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) recorded a significant 6.6% increase in the January–October 2025 period compared to the same timeframe in 2024.
Across all 24 airports — including major hubs such as Heraklion and Kalamata, as well as the regional “Dimokritos” Airport of Dedeağaç — total passenger numbers reached 12,181,144, surpassing the 11,422,374 recorded in 2024.
The data from Heraklion International Airport “Nikos Kazantzakis” stand out in particular, as it served 9,595,298 passengers during the ten-month period.
A positive trend is also recorded across all 39 airports in Greece (HCAA, Fraport Greece, and Athens International Airport). Passenger traffic reached 76,238,091 in the first ten months of 2025, compared to 72,932,962 in 2024 — marking an overall 4.5% increase.
Aircraft movements (domestic and international) were also up at the 39 airports, with 570,508 flights recorded versus 549,439 in 2024, representing a 3.8% rise.
