Özkan Hüseyin laid to rest
Özkan Hüseyin, a prominent figure in the civil society efforts of the Western Thracian Turkish community in Germany, was laid to rest on Sunday, May 25.
Hüseyin was one of the founding members of the Western Thrace Turkish Family Association in Munich, where he also served as president for many years. He played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Federation of Western Thrace Turks in Europe (ABTTF) and served on its Executive Board for an extended period.
In a statement of condolence issued by ABTTF, the organization paid tribute to Hüseyin’s lifelong dedication:
“Özkan Hüseyin devoted his entire life to the just cause of the Western Thracian Turkish community, defending their rights on every platform.
He was one of the leading figures in the association movement of our community in Germany.
On behalf of the ABTTF Executive Board and all Western Thracian Turks living in Europe, we express our deepest condolences to his grieving family, loved ones, and the Western Thracian Turkish community.
Hüseyin will always be remembered with love, respect, and gratitude for his invaluable service to our community and the ABTTF. May he rest in peace, and may his soul find paradise.”
Özkan Hüseyin’s legacy remains a cornerstone of the diaspora’s organizational and cultural development, and his contributions will continue to inspire generations to come.
