Orthodontist Dr. Nurcan Kahya opens new dental clinic in İskeçe
The clinic is located on Panagi Tsaldari Street (İskeçe Avenue) No. 94, second floor, in a central area of the city. With her new practice, Dr. Kahya aims to provide specialized orthodontic care to patients in the region.
Dr. Kahya completed her doctoral studies in orthodontics at Istanbul Aydin University, earning the title of Doctor of Orthodontics. She is recognized as the first dentist to obtain a PhD in Orthodontics from the university’s Faculty of Dentistry.
Originally from Mustafçova, a village in the İskeçe region, Dr. Kahya comes from a farming family. She completed her early education locally before graduating from Muzaffer Salihoğlu Minority Secondary School and High School.
After successfully passing the YÖS (Foreign Student Exam), she enrolled at Istanbul University Faculty of Dentistry, graduating in 2012. She subsequently worked in several dental clinics in Istanbul.
In 2013, Dr. Kahya passed the Greek diploma equivalency examinations through DOATAP, granting her the right to practice dentistry in Greece. She later pursued her PhD in Orthodontics starting in 2018 at Istanbul Aydin University, where she also served as a lecturer during her academic training.
Throughout her academic career, Dr. Kahya has published nearly ten scientific articles in international journals, including the Journal of Dentistry Indonesia, Clinical Oral Investigations, and the European Journal of Research in Dentistry.
She successfully defended her doctoral thesis on March 7, 2024, and received official recognition of her PhD diploma from DOATAP in 2025. Following this, she began practicing as a specialist orthodontist in Xanthi.
The opening of her clinic represents not only a personal achievement but also a contribution to expanding specialized healthcare services in the region.
