New medical equipment to strengthen İskeçe hospital
On Tuesday, November 25, Christodoulos Topsidis, Governor of the East Macedonia and Thrace (EMT) Region, visited İskeçe (Xanthi) Hospital to discuss plans for enhancing the hospital’s medical and technological infrastructure.
€1.6 million investment
The “Procurement of Medical Technological Equipment for Xanthi Hospital” project will receive a budget of €1,627,000, supported by the European Regional Development Fund under the East Macedonia and Thrace 2021-2027 Program. The project aims to equip the hospital with modern devices and high-tech medical equipment.
Financial support for doctors proposed
Topsidis also announced a proposal to provide monthly financial support for two years to 10 temporary doctors across all specialties. This proposal will be reviewed by the Regional Council and is designed to retain specialized doctors and ensure the continuity of healthcare services at the hospital.
During his visit, Topsidis met with Hospital Director Kosmidou, accompanied by İskeçe (Xanthi) Deputy Governor Brika and Regional Council members Salih Yörük, İbrahim Amuçka, and Fatih İsmailko. The governor emphasized that efforts to strengthen healthcare services in the region will continue.
