New €50 million canning factory in Rodopi by Macedonia-Thrace Brewery S.A.
Macedonia-Thrace Brewery S.A. is moving forward with the establishment of a new canning factory in Rodopi, as part of its long-term strategic planning. The €50 million investment is expected to be completed within two years and will create over 100 new jobs. The new factory, with an anticipated production capacity of 500 million aluminum cans annually, will meet the company's packaging needs, serve the domestic market, and enhance its export activities in the Balkans.
Macedonia-Thrace Brewery S.A. continues to solidify its position as a leading force in the Greek brewing industry, consistently achieving positive financial results. Despite challenges in the global market, the company reported a revenue increase of €31.42 million, while its EBITDA rose to €6 million. As part of its broader investment program, valued at €15.5 million for the years 2024-2025, the company has completed the construction and operation of its second brewery and is modernizing production with new bottling lines and robotic logistics systems, incorporating Artificial Intelligence technologies.
The brewery is strengthening its international presence by entering new markets, achieving a 15% increase in exports, and forming strategic partnerships with distributors in 12 countries.
Macedonia-Thrace Brewery S.A. is also expanding its product portfolio with new additions in the healthy beverages category under the brand tuvunu, including table water and lemon soda, as well as new beer varieties under the Vergina brand. The company significantly contributes to the local economy and society, supporting 500 farmers and cultivating 30,000 acres annually.
