New election law discussed in Echinos (Şahin)
The panel titled "The New Election Law and Its Reflections on the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace" was held on Wednesday, February 9 in Echinos (Şahin) - Xanthi.
The panel with the title “The New Election Law and Its Reflections on the Western Thrace Turkish Minority” which was organized by the Western Thrace Minority Graduates Association, with the contributions of the Myki (Mustafçova) Municipality and Echinos (Şahin) Education and Culture Association was hosted at the Karaca Ayşe Cultural Center in Echinos (Şahin) on Wednesday, February 9, 2022.
Journalist Ozan Ahmetoğlu moderated the panel, where Oktay Hoçka, President of Şahin Education and Culture Association, welcomed the guests and speakers.
The event started with the opening speeches. Hüseyin Baltacı, President of the Western Thrace Minority Graduates Association, Rıdvan Delihüseyin, the Mayor of Myki (Mustafçova) Municipality, Oktay Hoçka, the President of the Echinos (Şahin) Education and Culture Association, and Hulusi İhtiyar, the President of the Echinos (Şahin) Foundation Committee, greeted the audience with their opening speeches.
Xanthi Deputies Hüseyin Zeybek, Burhan Baran and Lawyer Adnan Peçenek, who attended the panel as speakers, explained the effects of the new election law on the minority. At the end of the event, questions from the participants were answered where a better understanding of the subject was provided.
Echinos (Şahin) Education and Culture Association said in a statement about the event, “Our guests who participated in the panel held within the framework of Covid-19 rules, along with their vaccination certificates, and our villagers who have a document that they have recently contracted the Covid-19 disease, attended to our invitation.
