New commercial spaces to be established in Fener

The Gümülcine (Komotini) Municipal Council has approved the designation of new commercial and recreational spaces in the Fener area, including one location for entertainment activities and two permanent open-air trading points for the sale of handicraft products.

The decision was taken at a municipal council meeting on June 24, 2026, under Decision No. 96/2026, concerning the designation of areas for commercial and recreational activities in Fener.

Under the decision, one area will be designated for entertainment-related activities, while two permanent open-air commercial points will be established for the sale of handicraft products.

The municipality said the allocation or leasing of the spaces will be carried out in accordance with applicable legislation and the procedures governing the use of public communal areas.

MUNICIPALITY TO SET CONDITIONS AND FEES
Municipal authorities will determine the conditions under which the spaces can be allocated, establish the relevant usage fees and oversee whether the designated communal areas are being used within their approved boundaries.

The municipality will also apply the specific legal framework governing the establishment and operation of entertainment activities.

Unauthorized use of the spaces or exceeding the boundaries approved by the municipality may result in legal sanctions and other enforcement measures.

The decision provides a regulatory framework for new commercial and recreational activities in Fener, while leaving the allocation or leasing of the individual spaces to subsequent procedures under the applicable legislation.
