Mufti Trampa meets with Mayoral Candidates of Mustafçova
pon the invitation of Mustafa Trampa, Mufti of Xanthi, the four mayoral candidates for Mustafçova Municipality; Rıdvan Delihüseyin, Mücahit Dükkancı, Cemil Kabza and Ahmet Kurt came together at the Mufti's Office of Xanthi on 16 September 2023. The President of the Xanthi Turkish Union Ozan Ahmetoğlu and the President of the Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association Hüseyin Baltacı were also present at the meeting.
After welcoming the guests, Mufti Trampa thanked them for honouring his invitation. Regarding the meeting, Mufti Trampa said "As a result of the consultations we made before, we thought that it would be very useful to have such a meeting with four candidates and we came together today. The presence of Mr Ozan Ahmetoğlu, President of the Xanthi Turkish Union and Hüseyin Baltacı, President of the Western Thrace Minority Higher Education Association is a very clear indication of our inter-institutional cooperation. As the Muslim Turkish Minority of Western Thrace, it will only be possible to protect our cause and continue our struggle in this way. May God grant you to complete this election process for the Presidency with calmness and peace. As far as we follow from social media, the election process started with a festive atmosphere. We hope that you will complete this election process without exceeding moral boundaries while criticising each other in the election squares from now on. In the end, may the winner be the Muslim Turks of Mustafçova Municipality. As an organisation, we are at equal distance to all of you. We have also emphasised to our religious officials that when you visit their villages or neighbourhoods, they should keep an equal distance to all of you and stay away from discourses, attitudes and behaviours that may lead to misunderstandings. May God help you in this service race, I wish you all success."
After Mufti Mustafa Trampa's speech, all four candidates took the floor and firstly thanked him for bringing them together and then wished each other success.
After the candidates, Ozan Ahmetoğlu, President of the Xanthi Turkish Union and Hüseyin Baltacı, President of the Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association made short speeches. They thanked Mufti Trampa for organising such a meeting and wished success to the presidential candidates.
