In his message, Mufti Serif announced that the Night of Power will fall on the night connecting Monday, March 16, to Tuesday, March 17, while Eid al-Fitr will be celebrated on Friday, March 20.

“The Most Blessed Night”
Mufti Serif emphasized that the 27th night of the holy month of Ramadan is traditionally recognized by Muslims as the Night of Power, one of the most sacred nights in Islam.

Quoting verses from the Quran, he highlighted the spiritual significance of the night:

“Indeed, We revealed the Qur’an on the Night of Power… The Night of Power is better than a thousand months.”
According to Islamic belief, the revelation of the Qur’an began on this night, granting the month of Ramadan a unique spiritual status. Mufti Serif noted that angels, including Gabriel, descend to earth by God’s command, bringing peace and blessings until dawn.

He encouraged believers to increase their worship, prayers, and recitation of the Qur’an, following the example of Muhammad, who intensified his acts of devotion during the last ten days of Ramadan.

A Time for Forgiveness and Prayer
Referring to a narration from Aisha, Mufti Serif reminded Muslims of the well-known supplication recommended for Laylat al-Qadr:

“O Allah, You are Most Forgiving and love forgiveness, so forgive me.”

Message for Eid al-Fitr

Mufti Serif also addressed the significance of Eid al-Fitr, describing it as a time when social solidarity, unity, and compassion reach their peak.

He noted that religious holidays are moments when communities come together in joy, reconcile differences, and support those in need through zakat and charitable giving.

Mufti Serif concluded his message by praying that the fasting, worship, and charitable acts performed throughout Ramadan would be accepted and that Muslims would reach the holiday purified and spiritually renewed.

He extended his congratulations to the Muslim Turkish Minority of Western Thrace, the broader Islamic world, and compatriots living abroad, wishing that the holy nights and upcoming Eid bring blessings and goodness to all.
