MP Burhan Baran brings good news for minority youth who want to enter firefighting school
Xanthi PASOK Deputy Burhan Baran announced that the special quota for minority youth will be re-applied in the firefighting school entrance exams. Burhan Baran expressed his satisfaction with the re-implementation of the quota as a result of his initiative.
Reminding that he had previously submitted a parliamentary question on the subject, Deputy Burhan Baran stated that he asked why the special quota was abolished in 2022.
In his statement on the subject, Baran made the following statements: “As a deputy of the PASOK - Movement for Change Party, in my proposal with protocol number 4486/ 05.04.2022 that I submitted to the parliament, the special quota right of students belonging to the Muslim minority in East Macedonia and Thrace will be granted in 2021-2022. I asked the firefighting schools why they were removed from the student admission exams. In the same question, I requested that this application be put into effect again.
I am pleased to inform you that, as a result of our intervention, students belonging to the Muslim minority in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace were subjected to special quotas in the applications for the entrance exams for the Firefighting schools of the academic year 2023 - 2024, and another injustice was corrected."
