Members of the International Association of Muslim Scholars visit Xanthi Western Thrace

Members of the International Association of Muslim Scholars (UMAD) Prof. Dr. Nasrullah Hacımüftüoğlu, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Karataş, Prof. Dr. Numan Aruç, Prof. Dr. Selçuk Coşkun, Prof. Dr. Saffet Köse, Prof. Dr. Faruk Beşer, Assoc. Dr. Abdurrahman Candan, Assoc. Dr. Yakup Bıyıkoğlu, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdullah Tırabzon, Ömer Korkmaz and M. Emin Kılıç came together with imams, theologians and Qur'an Course teachers of the Muftiate of Xanthi between 31 August - 1 September within the framework of the 3rd Balkan Visits.
The delegation performed Asr, Maghrib, and Isha prayers in Kozluca, Gökçepınar, Paşevik, Elmalı, Demircik, Şahin and Ketenlik villages on 31 August Thursday and met with the kinsmen there. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Karataş addressed crowded groups of women in Ketenlik, Elmalı and Şahin villages on 31 August Thursday.
On Friday 1 September, the delegation held a meeting with the graduates of the faculties of theology of the Muftiate of Xanthi at breakfast. Afterwards, the delegation met with religious officials at the Cultural Centre of Western Thrace University Graduates Association in Xanthi.
The members of the International Association of Muslim Scholars (UMAD) also met with the students and teachers of Çınar Mosque Qur'an Course within the framework of their Xanthi programme. The students of Çınar Mosque Qur'an Course welcomed the delegation of UMAD members with roses. The UMAD delegation performed Friday prayers in Xanthi Aşağımahalle Çınar Mosque and preached in five different places including Sünne Mosque, Mescid-i Atik, Ahriyan Mosque and Koyunköy Mosque.
