Members of the Advisory Board attended the Şeb-i Arus ceremonies
The members of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board (BTTADK) chaired by the Mufti of Komotini İbrahim Şerif participated in the International Commemoration Ceremonies (Şeb-i Arus) held on the occasion of the 749th anniversary of Mevlana's union.
The statement from Advisory Board regarding the contacts of the delegation in Konya is as follows:
“The delegation of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board participated in the International Commemoration Ceremonies (Şeb-i Arus) held on the occasion of the 749th Anniversary of Mevlana's Vuslat.
Within the scope of our visits, we first met with Konya Provincial Mufti, Prof. Dr. Mr. Ali Öge. Afterwards, we had the opportunity to meet with the Rector of Necmettin Erbakan University, Prof. Dr. Mr. Cem Zorlu, and the Dean of the Faculty of Theology, Prof. Dr. Mr. Fikret Karapınar, and we had a productive meeting with them.
Finally, our Board met with the Governor of Konya, Mr. Vahdettin Özkan, and the Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, Mr. Uğur İbrahim Altay, at the Konya Mevlana Cultural Center, and closely followed the “sema” performances that took place as part of the International Commemoration Ceremonies.
