Mayor Ahmet Kurt makes statement n the dog attack in Şahin
In his statement, Mayor Kurt expressed his deep regret over the incident and wished the injured lady a speedy recovery.
Mayor Kurt stated that their authority in this matter is limited and that they will contact the necessary state institutions and take all necessary legal and conscientious measures to combat such problems.
Mustafçova Mayor Ahmet Kurt made the following statement on his social media account regarding the tragic incident in Şahin village:
"Dear residents of Mustafçova Municipality,
Yesterday, an undesirable and sad incident took place in Şahin village. The attack of a dog on a lady (our sister-in-law) deeply upset me and the whole municipal administration. First of all, I would like to convey my get well wishes to the injured lady and I would like to state that I will do my best to help her regain her health. Immediately after this unfortunate incident yesterday, I transferred our veterinarians to the region. For the solution of this chronic, almost ubiquitous problem, we have rolled up our sleeves from the moment we came to office, as we have rolled up our sleeves in other issues. However, I would like you to know that our authorisation in this matter is limited. In order to combat such problems, we will liaise with the necessary state institutions and take all necessary legal and conscientious measures. You can rest assured in this regard. Or we will ask the state to extend our jurisdiction to our local administration. In any case, the solutions to these and similar problems will be solved not by us politicians, but by a committee of experts acting within the framework of science and ethics, and we will coordinate such distinguished people as a management. Once again, I would like to convey my get well soon wishes to the injured lady, and I wish that such incidents will not happen again, and I would like to express that I will personally follow the incident.
