Macedonia-Thrace decentralized administration wins award for digital proposal

The award was presented by the Ministry of Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence for the innovative proposal titled “Unified Information and Citizen Service Platform: From Primary Data to Intelligent Public Information-Sharing Systems.”

The awards ceremony was held at the Ministry’s auditorium in Kallithea, Attica, with the Decentralized Administration of Macedonia–Thrace receiving the first award of the event under the “Central Public Administration” thematic category.

The Digital Governance Awards are an initiative of the Ministry of Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence designed to recognize and promote initiatives, applications and ideas that contribute to the digital transformation of Greece’s public administration.

DIGITAL PLATFORM TO DELIVER SMARTER PUBLIC SERVICES
The award-winning proposal involves the creation of a multilayered digital infrastructure that would use primary administrative data to provide intelligent information and services to both citizens and public employees.

Members of the project team from the Directorate of Information Technology and Communications accepted the award from Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister Thanasis Kontogeorgis, in the presence of Secretary of the Decentralized Administration of Macedonia–Thrace Dimitris Galamatis.

Galamatis said the distinction primarily represented recognition of the creativity, expertise and dedication of the Directorate of Information Technology and Communications staff who worked on the proposal.

He added that the award was an honor for the administration while also strengthening its responsibility to continue its digital transformation efforts with greater determination.

The initiative highlights the administration’s efforts to modernize public services through the use of administrative data and digital technologies, with the aim of improving access to information and services for both citizens and public-sector employees.
