A proposal has been raised in Gümülcine regarding the possible reinstatement of toll exemptions for local residents using the Egnatia Motorway. Özgür Ferhat stated that the issue of transit fees affecting daily mobility and local economic activity is being evaluated and could be brought back for parliamentary consideration.

The proposal focuses on easing transportation costs for residents who regularly use the motorway for work, trade, and essential travel. Local stakeholders have previously argued that toll policies place a financial burden on communities living along key transit corridors.

Authorities are expected to review the issue within broader infrastructure and regional development discussions.
