Local mobilization and aid efforts in full force in Yassıköy
The fire started in Çepelli village and reached Büyük Müsellim, Susurköy, Kozlardere and Narlıköy. It is known that many houses were burnt, especially in Sususköy, Kozlardere and Narlıköy.
The people of the region are mobilised with the concern that the fire, which continues on the ridges of Narlıköy at midnight, will cross Kuruçay and spread to Yassıköy.
As Millet Newspaper, we closely monitored the situation in Yassıköy at midnight. Water, beverages and snacks from neighbouring villages are being collected in Yassıköy square.
The aid campaign, which was announced with the organisation of Gönül Sepeti social media group in Xanthi, Koyunköy and Misvaklı youth, showed great interest from the cognates. A large amount of water and snacks were collected in a short time. The collected materials are being delivered to the authorised units.
In Yassıköy, it was reported that approximately 100-150 people were waiting near Kuruçay and took the necessary measures to prevent the fire from spreading to the other side.
It was seen that the people of the region were ready in solidarity for any unfavourable situation.
