The World Turkish Business Council (DTIK) Romania Meeting took place on November 1 in Bucharest, bringing together Turkish business leaders and officials, including DTIK Balkan Region President Levent Sadık Ahmet, Turkey’s Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat, Deputy Minister of Trade Mustafa Tuzcu, DEIK Secretary General Caner Çolak, DTIK Romania Representative Güven Güngör, and Ambassador Özgür Güven Altan.

In his remarks, Levent Sadık Ahmet, who also serves as Chairman of DCT TRADING, highlighted the role of the Turkish diaspora in strengthening ties between Türkiye and Romania. "We are pleased to see that the Turkish diaspora in Romania is building cultural bridges, deepening commercial relations, and expanding investments, thus reinforcing the bonds between our countries," he said. He expressed confidence that the Turkish presence in Romania would continue to grow.

Sadık Ahmet emphasized the historical and strategic significance of the Balkans for Türkiye, mentioning Türkiye’s ongoing diplomatic, economic, and humanitarian initiatives aimed at supporting stability and cooperation in the region. He noted the advancements made by Turkish entrepreneurs and the Turkish banking system’s role in supporting these ventures.

Stressing DTIK’s commitment to “diaspora diplomacy,” Sadık Ahmet outlined the council’s goal of creating a robust communication network among Turkish and Turkey-friendly businesspeople abroad. He expressed hopes for the diaspora to actively engage within their communities, stating, "We envision a diaspora that upholds its values while integrating harmoniously and effectively within the society, moving from being influenced to being influential."

The meeting concluded with discussions aimed at enhancing the Turkish diaspora’s role, strengthening partnerships, and fostering ties between Romania and Türkiye.
