Kozlukebir municipality unanimously opposes closure of DYPA Sapçı branch

The Kozlukebir Municipal Council has unanimously opposed the possible closure of the Public Employment Service (DYPA) branch in Sapçı, warning that the move would make access to essential public services more difficult for residents of the border municipality.

The council adopted decision No. 48/2026 during its meeting on August 31, expressing its opposition to any plans to shut down the DYPA Sapçı branch.

Municipality highlights importance of local public services
In its statement, the municipal council emphasized that the DYPA branch provides an important public service to residents, particularly unemployed people, workers, businesses and citizens living in remote settlements.

Kozlukebir municipality covers a geographically extensive area and is located in a border region. According to the council, closing the local branch would force residents to travel to other service centers to access DYPA services.

This would create additional financial and time-related burdens, with vulnerable and disadvantaged groups expected to be particularly affected by the loss of local access.

Call for branch to be maintained and strengthened
The municipal council called on the Ministry of Labour and Social Security and DYPA's administration to reconsider any plans concerning the closure of the Sapçı branch.

The council also called for the branch to be preserved and strengthened, while urging the authorities to provide greater support for public services in border areas.

The unanimous decision reflects the municipality's position that maintaining accessible public services is essential for residents of remote and border communities.
