Kozlardere people preparing for the "Küplü Sacrifice" event
"Küplü Sacrifice" organised in Kozlardere village, which is also called as mahya by the people is a deep-rooted tradition that started 5 centuries ago and is still kept alive in the best way by the people of the village.
The religious event, which brings together both the kinsmen living in the villages in the Yaka region and the cognates from different villages of the Rhodope region during the summer months, will be held this year on Sunday, 9 July 2023.
The people of Kozlardere, who have been hosting thousands of guests on the day of the event for years with their men, women and especially young people in the most beautiful way, have once again rolled up their sleeves and started preparations for the event to be successful with high participation.
Under the leadership of the Kozlardere Board of Trustees, the elected representatives of the village and the residents of the village will join hands together and organise the "Küplü Kurbanı" on Sunday 9 July. All Western Thrace Turkish people are invited to the event.
