Kavala tops as richest in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace

According to the Central Bank data, as of June this year, Kavala ranks first with a total of 1.73 billion euros in deposits, making it the wealthiest region in the Eastern Macedonia and Thrace (EMT) reigon.
In contrast, Rhodope (Rodop) ranks last with 883 million euros in deposits.
In Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, overall deposits reached 6.3 billion euros in June 2024. Kavala leads with 1.73 billion euros, followed by Evros (Meriç) with 1.68 billion euros, Drama with 1.05 billion euros, Xanthi (İskeçe) with 962 million euros, and Rhodope at the bottom with 883 million euros.
When comparing to June 2023, Evros residents' deposits increased from 1.61 billion euros to over 1.68 billion euros, showing a steady growth in savings.
