ITB to march against injustice

After Supreme Court did not implement the ECtHR's decision regarding the ITB and rejected the request for the restitution of the legal status of the association, a decision was made for demonstration.

Following the Supreme Court's refusal regarding the Xanthi Turkish Union (ITB), a demonstration wiil be held on Saturday, July 10. The sit-in protest will start at 11.30 am in front of the ITB and after the march to the city square.

The statement in the press relief of ITB is as follows:
"...We will hold a meeting on Saturday, July 10 at 11:30 in order to express our reaction against the just demands of the Xanthi Turkish Union, the non-implementation of the ECtHR judgments and the injustice suffered by the Western Thrace Turkish Minority. It will start in front of the Xanthi Turkish Union and after the peaceful march to the city square and the speeches to be made there, a sit-in will be held for a while.

We invite all members of the Xanthi Turkish Union, everyone who respects democracy and human rights, and all citizens who defend our rightful demands against the injustices targeting our minority, to participate in the democratic action to be organized and to raise our voices against injustice.

We are meeting in front of the Xanthi Turkish Union on Saturday, July 10 at 11.30 and we say 'THAT'S ENOUGH' to years of injustice!... ”
