Interior Ministry responds to Burhan Baran on livestock farmers' financial losses

The Ministry of Interior has responded to Xanthi MP Bourhan Baran’s inquiry regarding the financial losses suffered by local livestock farmers due to the sheep and goat pox outbreak.
According to the ministry’s statement, 22 new veterinary positions have been approved in the Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Region, 18 of which are for veterinary specialists. However, no request was submitted for positions in the Xanthi Regional Unit, affecting the availability of veterinary services in the area.
The ministry emphasized that local authorities can request temporary staff or utilize the Unified Mobility System for transfers or secondments of veterinarians.
MP Bourhan Baran stated that he will continue to advocate for the financial recovery of livestock farmers and for reinforcing Xanthi’s veterinary services.
