İlhan Ahmet and Önder Mümin expelled from Advisory Board
Making a statement after the meeting, the board announced that Rhodope Deputy İlhan Ahmet and Iasmos (Yassıköy) Mayor Önder Mümin, who acted against the minority society for the sake of personal interests and lost all emotional ties with the minority, were expelled from BTTADK membership.
"As the Western Thrace Turkish Minority, we are about to fill the first century of our entrustment to Greece. To date, no minority deputies and mayors have made such a big mistake as to wear down and offend minority institutions and organizations, and to make political material. In short, anyone did not engage in attitudes and behaviors that would harm the minority's century-old stance and line of action.
In order to achieve their own political goals at the end of a century, they have made statements that will publicly humiliate the organizations and the managers of those organizations, which are the building blocks of the minority. Disregarding the principles and principles of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board, of which they are also a member, they did not even take into account our warnings to them.
We express in clear language that our paths no longer cross at any point with the Rhodope Deputy İlhan Ahmet and Iasmos (Yassıköy) Mayor Önder Mümin, who want to walk the path in line with their own preferences.
The guarantor of our minority, which was entrusted to Greece by the motherland Turkey, with all its rights protected by the Lausanne Peace Treaty signed on July 24, 1923, is naturally the Republic of Turkey.
That's why it's called "homeland".From time to time, high-level visits are made to our minority from the homeland and the injustices we have been subjected to are also expressed by these visitors. They even follow up the grievances we experience through their representation in the country they have entrusted. How and why does this situation bother someone who is a minority parliamentarian and mayor?
We regretfully witness that these two individuals have lost all emotional ties to the minority and that our identity, presence and future no longer mean anything to them.
For this reason, the members of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board decided at the meeting held on the evening of Sunday, June 12, that there was a mismatch between the goals of Deputy İlhan Ahmet and Mayor Önder Mümin and the goals of our organization. It respectfully announces to all members of the minority and the public that it has dismissed both of them as members of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board."
