The affected section stretches from the Kalfa junction to the salt station near the Yanikköy exit, where increased landslide risk has prompted officials to suspend vehicle circulation for safety reasons.

Authorities stated that the closure will remain in effect until the area is deemed structurally secure and safe for public use.

Alternative Route for Drivers

Motorists traveling from Gümülcine to Bulgaria are advised to use the Kozluköy–Dereköy route as an alternative corridor until further notice.

The Yanikköy–Makaza crossing is a key transit point between northeastern Greece and southern Bulgaria, serving both passenger vehicles and regional trade flows. Disruptions along the route may lead to temporary traffic congestion on neighboring crossings.

Drivers are urged to follow official traffic updates and avoid restricted areas.
