Gizem from Komotini (Gümülcine) volunteers in AIESEC
Gizem Hasan, a resident from Komotini (Gümülcine) worked in Italy as a volunteer within a project of AIESEC. Gizem as a Biomedical Engineering student at Thessaly University, participated in a volunteering program, AIESEC and worked as an English teacher in a small city in Italy, named Trento.
Last year Gizem applied to the recently referred AIESEC program and after the evaluation she was accepted and invited to the camp Il Muretto which is intended for children aged between 7-14. The project took place from 2 June, until 10 August, totally 6 weeks in Trento with many volunteers like Gizem from various countries.
During the programme Gizem had stayed in Trento, was hosted by a family who are also AIESEC volunteers and worked in the children camp as English teacher. Furthermore, in the events of camp took office as a keeper of the young campers.
“I was working from 9 am until 5 pm in the children camp and I had a lot of students from numerous countries who migrated to Italy,” said young volunteer Gizem.
Lastly, Gizem specified that meeting new people and cultures is pleasant and expressed that she spent good and enjoyable time with the children during the period of the program. Also, thanks to the project, she had chance to travel among Italy and Balkan Counties. That’s why Gizem defines the project educative.
