Ahmet Mehmet, one of the former MPs who served the Western Thrace Turkish Minority in the Greek Parliament as a member of parliament for a term  representing the Rhodope region, passed away.

Former Deputy Ahmet Mehmet had been struggling with cancer for three months. As a result of the progress of his disease in the last days, he passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at 16.00, at his home in Komotini.

Sibel Mustafaoğlu, the daughter-in-law of the ex-deputy, member of PASOK - KİNAL Party Rhodope Provincial Organization and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Rhodope Provincial Addiction Prevention and Mental Health Center, announced on her social media account.

Mustafaoğlu in her personal social media account shared, "Our dear father, former Deputy Ahmet Mehmet, has passed away. His funeral will be taken from his house in Komotini tomorrow (Friday) after the afternoon (asr) pray. It is announced to all his, friends and relatives."

The funeral of former deputy Ahmet Mehmet will be taken from his house in Komotini after the afternoon prayer today (Friday). The body will be buried in the Kahveci Cemetery in Komotini.
