Deputy Charitou from Siriza claimed that Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu's statements, who visited Western Thrace, had nothing to do with international law and the Treaty of Lausanne, and that the statements were baseless. Reminding that the Treaty of Lausanne envisaged the Western Thrace Minority as a Muslim minority and that this treaty was also signed by Turkey, Charitou also criticized the government that accepted such a visit. It was seen that this assessment of Charitou is not different from the mentality that denies the identity of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority.
